For over two decades, the Inn Theatre Company has transformed Dartmouth Castle into one of the most magical outdoor theatre venues in England. Every summer, towards the end of July and into early August, they perform a Shakespeare classic against the dramatic backdrop of the castle walls – with the estuary glittering behind the stage and the Devon sky overhead.

Now in its third decade, Dart Art Day is one of Dartmouth’s most loved community events – a wonderful day of art, music, cake, and creativity held in the beautiful Royal Avenue Gardens, all in support of Children’s Hospice South West.
Whether you’re visiting with little ones or just enjoy art in the open air, CHSW Dart Art Day offers a relaxed and meaningful experience. This will be another lovely occasion to celebrate and support this incredible charity, with the aim to raise as much money as possible to help raise awareness for children who are suffering from short and precious lives.
Having raised over £4000 last year, Dart Art Day is a delightful day which is filled with artistic wonder. With 22 talented artists and craft workers showcasing their work in charming gazebos, you’ll find unique pieces to admire and purchase.

Since its launch in 2021, Dartmouth Pride has provided a welcoming space for our local LGBTQ+ community to meet and connect. Renowned as a town for its kindness and diversity, Dartmouth is home to extraordinary individuals from all walks of life.
Whether you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community or just keen to come along and support, join the 5th‑anniversary festival on 28 June at Royal Avenue Gardens! It all begins with a 10:30 AM Pride Walk from Dartmouth Castle, followed by a vibrant garden festival (11 AM–6 PM) featuring live music, DJs, food stalls, and more – all free and open to everyone. The evening’s capped off with an after‑party at Dartmouth Yacht Club showcasing a DJ and live entertainment.
