  • National Marine Aquarium Plymouth: This is the largest aquarium in the UK and allows you to take a journey through the oceans of the world and the creatures they are host to. This aquarium makes for a wonderful visit for both adults and children alike.
  • Dartmoor National Park: A vast stretch of moorland, this stunning stretch of nature is home to a variety of walks that carry you through forests, past rivers, over wetlands and tors, and allow you to explore Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses.
  • Pennywell Farm: A popular tourist attraction, this farm is a favourite of children and adults alike. With activities to take part in every half an hour, all included in the ticket price, a visit here is always a fun day out.
  • Woodlands Adventure Park: The largest theme park in Devon, Woodlands park has some fantastic indoor play areas, water rides, a zoo farm, rides, and much more. It’s well worth a visit.
  • Dartmouth Steam Railway: One of the most iconic activities in Dartmouth, the steam railway is a must do when visiting the area. There are also popular bundle tickets that allow you to experience the train, river boat, and cruises all for one price.
  • River Trips From Dartmouth: The River Dart is such a striking feature of the area that wanting to explore its surface is a natural compulsion. These river cruises offer a delightful perspective of the area and are a highly popular attraction.
  • Paignton Zoo: A great day out for all the family, this zoo is home to dozens of different species, as well as a range of other activities. It’s best to save a full day for this one if you want to get the most out of the experience.
  • Paignton Water Park: Who doesn’t love a trip to the water park? The Splashdown Quaywest in Paignton is the largest outdoor waterpark in the UK, and makes for the perfect way to cool down in the face of the summer heat.

Outdoor Activities At Norton Park

For those feeling more adventurous, the South Hams area of outstanding natural beauty is only a short journey away by car, offering such a selection of stunning nature walks that you will need to visit Norton Park again and again before you’ve seen them all. If you don’t have a car, there are plenty of bus routes available. One of our favourites is the Dartmouth to Plymouth route that stops at the award-winning Black Sands beach.

For those looking to push themselves, the longest coastal walk in the UK passes by Norton Holiday Park, Dartmouth. The stunning 630 mile route around the South West of England gives you a chance to see a gorgeous variety of Devon landscapes and ocean views. The gentle ten mile route to Torcross is a perfect choice for all the family to enjoy, allowing you to walk at your own pace, soak in the views, and make lasting memories together. If you’re up for a challenge, the long coast path to Brixham is tougher, but presents glorious scenes of the River Dart’s east bank and that’s to say nothing of the exciting activities laid out before you once you reach Brixham itself.
